Gently hold the paw and identify the nail tip, avoiding the quick (sensitive inner part of your dog’s nail, it contains blood vessels and nerves, which means cutting into it can cause pain and bleeding). Position the nail clipper at a slight angle and trim a small amount in one smooth motion. For dark nails, trim gradually in small increments. Always praise and reward your dog after trimming to keep the experience positive.

Clean the clippers after use and store in a dry place. Use regularly to maintain healthy nail length.
